Merry Christmas!

I had lots of anticipation leading up to Christmas and the big day didn't disappoint! This was the best Christmas ever. Seeing the pure joy on Riley's face melts my heart. She was so excited about everything we did, except church, which she wanted no part of because it involved sitting still. As I look around the house at the 1,000 new toys, I know that I am truly blessed to have such a loving and generous group of family and friends. Riley and Skylar are 2 lucky girls. Thank you to everyone who helped make this holiday one to remember.... not just for the gifts, but for the great company too!

Santa set up quite a spread for the girls....

And they loved it!
Merry Christmas !!!

Gingerbread Houses

Friday, I got to go to Skylar's school to help her class make gingerbread houses! It was really special to be with Skylar and participate in a school activity with her. All of her classmates are really sweet and creative. It was a messy and delicious afternoon!

Holiday Hayride

I took the girls to Covington this weekend to our friend, Elizabeth's, parents house for a holiday hayride! We had so much fun. We took 2 hayrides, sang christmas carols, and had hot chocolate. It is so great to see all of friends kids playing with our own kids. The girls loved it and can't wait to go again! Many thanks to the Nieto's for hosting such a great day.
Baby snack time... and a little chatting. Too cute!

Breakfast with Santa!

Skylar's school, Christ the King, hosted a breakfast with Santa today. The girls were really excited to see Santa. We had pancakes, did some arts and crafts, and, of course, took a picture with Santa. Riley loved to watch Santa from afar, but when it came to sitting on his lap, she was terrified! Sooooo, mommy got to be in the Santa photo too. Hopefully this means Santa will bring me something for Christmas too. I have been good for most of the year. Happy Holidays everyone!

All dressed up and ready to meet Santa!

Arts and Crafts!

Yesterday, we adventured into the world of arts and crafts! We went to Michael's craft store and selected many holiday themed items and came home ready to create. I wasn't sure how Riley would do with finger paints, but she loved it! She played with paint and stickers and Skylar was very creative, as usual, and she made some great works of art. It was really fun afternoon.

Riley Update

I originally started this blog so that all my family and friends could keep updated on our family, especially the girls. As time passes, I am using this blog as more of an online scrapbook for myself. I LOVE going back to my first post and reminiscing over how much Riley has grown. I try to remember everything she does, but sometimes I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday. So, I thought that for this post, I would list some of the things that Riley is doing right now, at 21 months, so next year when I am looking over older posts, I will remember! And as for all the rest of you, here's a chance for you to stay updated as well!

Words: She is talking up a storm! Her favorite thing to say right now is "happy birthday to you" but also says yogurt, nana, tater and just about anything you ask her to repeat! If you ask her what her last name is, she mumbles "Bergeron" in a very cute way! If she wants me to hold her she says "hold you".... so sweet. She also knows that a turkey says gobble and santa says ho ho ho! I am really looking forward to Christmas!

Play: She loves to play with her baby, Dora, and a few other dolls. Riley pushes Dora around in her stroller with her purse on her arm. If I ask her where she's going, she says "Wal-mart!" She is also into toy transferring. She will take blocks or puzzle pieces and put them all on the floor. Then, one by one, she will transfer them to the fireplace and then to the kitchen. She seems to have a great sense of accomplishment when she does this and it keeps her busy for a while!

Others: Her favorite song is still, of course, "Baby" by Justin Bieber. We listen to it several times a day! She loves to take a bath and playing outside and she loves feeding herself. She wants no help!

I am so proud of Riley everyday. She is growing up so fast and I am loving every minute of it. She is an amazing girl and I am lucky she is mine!!!

Wedding Weekend!

Johnny's brother, Wayne, got married on Friday! It was a fantastic wedding enjoyed by all. Johnny was a groomsman and Skylar was a junior bridesmaid. She was so excited to be a part of Uncle Wayne's special day. I took her and the other junior bridesmaid, Sydnie, to get manicures and pedicures and to the hair salon to get their hair done. The end result was 2 precious girls. And Riley, of course, was too cute! Best wishes to Wayne and Amanda. We wish them all the best!!!

What a good lookin' bunch!

The Big Apple

The Big Apple didn't know what hit them until the Galivan girls showed up! Our clan blitzed the big city from Ellis Island to Central Park and everywhere in between. We had such an awesome time visiting the Statue of Liberty, Rockafeller Center, Broadway, and so much more. We did a lot of laughing and even more walking. So fun to get out of town, but even better to get home and see Johnny and my baby!
